About Nowak Digital
What is Nowak Digital?
Nowak Digital is the Digital Division of Nowak Dental Supplies. It focuses only on digital dentistry equipment and materials for dental laboratories: mills, 3D printers, scanners, sintering ovens, software and the materials that go with them.
How long has Nowak been in business?
Nowak Dental began in 1944 with Benny and Helen Nowak. Today it is family-owned and run by third-generation owners Brandi Nowak Dalton and Shawn Nowak.
Do you sell to dental offices or just labs?
Our digital catalog is built mainly for dental laboratories. Some products, such as intraoral scanners and chairside printers, also fit dental practices. Call us and we’ll help you find the right fit.
Which digital equipment brands do you carry?
We carry 25+ manufacturers, including 3Shape, Medit, SHINING 3D, Panda, Roland, VHF, Amann Girrbach, imes-icore, XTCERA, Asiga, SprintRay, Stratasys, 3D Systems, Kulzer, 2oneLab, Dekema, Shenpaz, KDF, Aidite, DLyte, AutoCrib, LabPilot, exocad, hyperDENT, MillBox, Kuraray Noritake, Scheftner, Harvest and HUGE Dental. New manufacturers are added often.
Can I see everything you carry in one place?

Ordering, Financing and Section 179
How do I get a quote or place an order?
Call the Digital team at 855.669.2533 or reach out through our contact page. A specialist will confirm the right configuration, software and accessories for your workflow before you buy.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We partner with two equipment-finance companies, Geneva Capital, LLC and Envision Capital Group, LLC. Both offer quick applications and flexible terms on equipment purchased from Nowak.
Who do I contact with financing questions?
Geneva Capital: Adam Streets, Sales Manager, (320) 759-3568. Envision Capital Group: Renee Tuttobene, SR VP of Client Relations, (949) 201-8990.
What is Section 179?
Section 179 of the U.S. tax code may let your business deduct the full purchase price of qualifying equipment in the year it is placed in service, instead of depreciating it over several years. For tax years beginning in 2026, the deduction limit is $2,560,000, phasing out above $4,090,000 in qualifying purchases.
When does equipment need to be installed to qualify this year?
To count for 2026, equipment must be purchased and placed in service by December 31, 2026. Ordering alone is not enough, so allow for lead times and installation. Talk to your tax advisor about your situation.
Do you run specials?
Yes. Our digital specials change often, so check back regularly or ask your rep what’s current.
Do you offer trade-ins or used equipment?
Occasionally, when the manufacturer offers a trade-in program. Ask your rep about current options.
Support, Training and Design Services
Who will support me after I buy?
Our Technical Support Team: Laura Pous, Matthew Viens, Haijin Yang, Michael Duong, Lulu Lopez and Cynthia Scott. They are experienced dental technicians who help with troubleshooting, material selection and workflow decisions.
Do you help with installation and setup?
Yes. The Digital team works with you through selection, purchase and integration of any equipment bought from Nowak.
How do I request technical support?
Submit our Support & Training request form or call 855.669.2533.
Do you offer training?
Yes. Request training through the same Support & Training form. Watch our Education, Webinars and Upcoming Events pages for scheduled sessions.
Who handles warranty repairs?
Nowak handles warranty repairs unless the manufacturer specifies otherwise. Some manufacturers cover warranty repairs directly; for others, Nowak performs the repair and labor may be billed. Your rep can tell you how it works for your equipment.
What is the Nowak Design Center?
An on-demand design service. Upload your scan data, and download a finished digital design. There is no commitment: you pay only for the designs you order, and you can review designs online, track progress and chat with our team. Sign up here.
Can I use the Design Center if I don’t own design software?
Yes. It’s built for on-demand outsourcing, so you don’t need your own design software.
Choosing the Right Technology
I’m new to digital. Where should my lab start?
Most labs start with a lab scanner and design software, then add a mill or 3D printer based on the work they do most. Our Digital team will review your case mix and recommend a starting setup.
What’s the difference between an “open” and a “closed” system?
An open system lets you use files, materials or software from other companies. For example, Asiga printers accept third-party resins, Medit lab scanners export standard STL files, and 2oneLab metal printers accept powder from any supplier. A closed system ties you to one manufacturer’s materials, which can simplify validation but limits choice.
Mills
Do I need a wet mill, a dry mill, or both?
Dry milling handles zirconia, PMMA, wax, PEEK and sinterable CoCr. Wet milling or grinding is needed for glass ceramics (lithium disilicate) and is preferred for titanium. Hybrid machines, such as the Amann Girrbach Motion 3 Air and XTCERA X-Mill 630D, do both.
Can I mill titanium in my lab?
Yes, with a mill built for it. The VHF R5 and XTCERA X-Mill 650 SE are designed for titanium and premill abutments.
Can I mill dentures on a mill I already own?
Often, yes. LabPilot’s hybrid flasking workflow uses compatible Roland DWX-53D/53DC, VHF E5/K5 and imes-icore 350i mills to mill dentures processed in your preferred acrylic.
3D printers
Which 3D printer is right for my lab?
| Your main need | Printers to consider |
|---|---|
| Models, splints, guides and everyday lab work | Asiga Max 2, Asiga Pro 4K, Asiga Ultra, SprintRay Pro 2, Roland 3DX Print, Kulzer cara Print Cube |
| Chairside crowns, inlays and veneers | SprintRay Midas |
| Mixed-material trays and multicolor models | Stratasys J3 DentaJet, Stratasys J5 DentaJet |
| Monolithic, multi-material dentures | Stratasys J5 DentaJet (TrueDent), 3D Systems NextDent 300 |
| Metal crowns, bridges and RPD frameworks | 2oneLab 2Create Desktop, 2Create, 2Create Plus |
What else do I need besides the printer?
Most resin workflows need a wash unit and a post-curing unit, such as the Asiga Cure or VHF Otoflash. Metal printing also needs inert gas, powder handling and finishing.
Scanners
Lab scanner or intraoral scanner?
Lab (desktop) scanners digitize models and impressions in the lab. Intraoral scanners capture the mouth directly in the dental office. Labs often recommend an IOS to their dentists so cases arrive digitally.
Can intraoral scans be sent to any lab?
The SHINING 3D and PANDA intraoral scanners we carry export open STL, PLY and OBJ files that most design software accepts.
Sintering, finishing and lab management
How fast can zirconia be sintered?
It depends on the oven and the zirconia. Dekema’s 664i G2 offers process times under 20 minutes, and the Shenpaz Sintra Pro runs a 90-minute fast cycle with validated materials. Always follow the zirconia manufacturer’s validated program.
What is dry electropolishing?
It’s an automated finishing process used by DLyte machines. Parts move through a solid electrolyte media that removes material only from surface peaks. It smooths and shines CoCr and titanium without abrasive media or changing part geometry.
What is a hybrid flasking workflow?
LabPilot’s process: your technician sets teeth and waxes as usual, the wax-up is scanned in a LabPilot flask, and LabPilot returns a ready-to-mill file within minutes.
How can I stop losing burs and consumables?
Snap-on AutoCrib vending systems log every withdrawal by user and report usage and spend, so you can control supply costs.
